Installing a cable gland always requires access from both the inside and the outside. Traditionally, installation is performed through a circular hole and secured with a locknut from the inside of the control cabinet or junction box.<\/p>\n

Unlike with the classic cable gland, the half-gland does not require a locknut, as the terminal box already has a male thread on the outside. Thus, it only needs to be screwed in from the outside.<\/p>\n

One of the key advantages is that, thanks to the minimal space required inside the terminal box and the possibility of external mounting, the interior space can be optimally utilized. By reducing the pitch distances, tighter spacing is possible here.<\/p>\n

Even with its lower overall height, the half-screw connection can be used in various clamping ranges and offers the same IP rating (IP68, 5 bar, 30 minutes) and UL approval (514B) as a standard cable gland.<\/p>\n

With automated external assembly and a small number of components, the half-screw-in connector offers reduced assembly times as well as a simple and cost-effective design for enclosure interfaces.<\/p>\n
